multiversion = provides:multiversion(kernel)
There now is work on zypp to allow automatic deinstallation of older kernels when this option is enabled as far as I know.
Hmm my problem is it removes _running_ kernel, it should be leaving at least one old kernel around, isn't that whats expected?
It's the way it is in Fedora, but only wished for in openSUSE. This insurance in openSUSE requires multiversion(kernel) enabled, and manual removal of excess kernel(s). I'm not sure why it should be difficult for zypper or YaST2 to be configured to never uninstall the running kernel/initrd in openSUSE, regardless whether multiversion is set or not. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
