I want to run SuSE-Linux with the GRSecurity kernel extensions and was recommended to use a vanilla kernel on this behalf. What will the vanilla-kernel miss what the openSUSE-Kernel offers (except Apparmor)?
Have a look http://gitorious.org/opensuse/kernel-source, the patches are listed in the series.conf file. If you look at 11.3, then except Apparmor, there is also Xen, KDB, Swap-over-NFS, richacls, the in-kernel bootsplash and writable limits. The rest seems to be fixes, updates or compatibility crap.
