Ciao, Do you please mind telling us more about the other minor bugs in KDE3 on 42.2? I do not plan to use plasma5, but in rare occasions I like to use some of the programs that come with kde4. Grazie, Gianluca On Sat, 7 Jan 2017, masigi@tiscali.it wrote:

Thanks for the explanations. Is kde/plasma5 similar to the old kde4 that came up until at least 13.1? I always install that before installing kde3
so that I have access to all kde4 packages, but I never login to kde4.
I wonder whether there will be a solution to the crash of kde3 in 42.2. I
need to evaluate whether on a new system I want to run 42.2 with KDE3 or with Trinity or maybe install 42.1 with KDE3.
Thanks,
Gianluca
In my humble opinion kde/plasma5 is neither mature nor good or suitable for a working environment. I discovered some further minor, (but annoying) bugs in KDE3 on 42.2 I do not know TDE enough. KDE3 on 42.1 works fine for my needs and is the right solution for me at the moment. (obviously those are only my personal opinions)
Regards, Ciao. E.
