I've done test installs of 11.4 on my main desktop several times but always fall back to 11.0 for this reason:
I can't get my monitors to work as they do in 11.0!
Without SaX2, I can't get them to work. My main screen is a 19" CRT at 1024x768, and my secondary is a 22" LCD at 1920x1080. No matter what I do, I get a cloned session with 11.4. I recently used susestudio to build an 11.4/KDE3 install and while it works, I can't commit to it if I can't fix my screens. The screen config in KDE3 claims that it isn't supported.
Anybody have any ideas? I've tried using the xorg config file from 11.0, and even cut it down to just the screens with no luck.
What you probably have not tried is an xorg.conf file in conjunction with an empty /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ dir. Give that a try if you haven't.
Would 11.2's SaX2 work in 11.4?
