Actually, UDisks2 seems to be guilty. It reports nothing under Vendor... (Solid reads info from UDisks2, and kinfocenter gets info from Solid)
Failure to show values for 'Vendor' is already shown in udisks2-2.0.0-5.8.1 from OSS 12.3, see output of "udisksctl dump", nothing new, just old failures showing up. <snip>
Is KInfocenter pulling this data via UDisks2?
KInfocenter pulls from Solid, which in turn pulls from UDisks2 via dbus calls.
If UDisks2 does not have correct values for 'Vendor', Solid in turn can not give values for 'Vendor' to KInfocenter.
Here, the root of the problem (missing values) is in UDisks2, because if you go to even deeper layers, udev knows the values.
[Shrugs] I can live with it, but there are cases where this presents more than 'just' a cosmetic issue.
- Yamaban. I agree. There more pressing issues.
