Few people here mentioned 4.9 and few others. I'd say to start with old:stable branch with release of LTS/Evergreen and keep it at this version during it's lifetime, which would now mean next two regular oSS releases.

Meant exactly what you meant with your 'latest' suggestion, which I see anyway as testing. Factory is basically unstable below. Drop release partitioning that is now and just have it synced with latest release after it passed through unstable.
