The expectation is that the minor update to KDE 4.12.3 will be released beginning of next week. This time this version will not be build in KDE:Distro:Factory, but exclusive in KDE:Release:412.
The reason for this is that we want to prepare KDE:Distro:Factory for the KDE 4.13 Beta, that should be released the week after. As you might know already the KDE 4.13 will have quite a number of optimizations regarding the Nepomuk framework by dropping virtuoso and moving to Xapian. I am sure that all of you have read the many posts on the internet about the move to Baloo and dropping Nepomuk.
As these changes requires quite some prework and we want to present the beta very soon after release, we needed to disable build for KDE:Distro:Factory. As soon as things are more clear, then we will come back to you with specific instructions and what to expect. An outstanding question within the team is also if we want to provide the Beta only in KDE:Distro:Factory for 13.1 and Factory, or that we already prepare KDE:Release:413 and build there for 13.1.
How much work is it to prepare/publish KDE:Release:413? How does this fit into the plans and discussion about simplifying and clarifying the releases of KDE4 for current (13.1) and Factory? Will there be any difference between KDE:Release:413 and KDE:Distro:Factory once installed/updated? I know I'll be using KDE:Release:413 if/when it comes available (whether the source is KDE:Release:413 or KDE:Distro:Factory)... so I'm interested in where it will land.
