A month ago I added upstream some entities to user.entities somewhere in kdelibs. Upstream there is only one location, in trunk, to add something to kdelibs.
Currently in KDE:46, my current KDE environment, the file /usr/share/kde4/apps/ksgmltools2/customization/nl/user.entities still has the old version. So I just copy the new version in that location to make it work.
Because there are not KDE 4.6 releases anymore.
In my view kdelibs should be an exception. Upstream you can only change it in git and only in trunk, but some work still depends on the new content of kdelibs. So somehow it needs to be made available in lower versions of KDE than trunk.
Is there a procedure in openSUSE to put this new file, and others, also in all the KDE repositories?
If you add something to trunk it will be part of the next KDE major release only, not of any past releases. If you add something to a branch it will be part of the next minor release of that branch.
So if you use KDE 4.6 you will not get any code you added to trunk. If you add it to the 4.7 branch you will get the code with the next minor release via KR47. If you only add it to trunk you will get it with the next major release, i.e. currently KUSC or KR48 as soon as KDE 4.8 got released.
There is no kdelibs in branch. So, if this is true, new versions never get it to branch, which is undesirable. -- fr.gr. Freek de Kruijf -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
