Dear All,
I have the following scenario: I am using KDE and my wife is using
Gnome. As a DM we use KDM. Now, from KDE I can switch user to Gnome, but not the other way around, as Gnome wants GDM, which I don't want to use (I prefer KDM).
Can you explain more why gnome requires to be started from gdm? I wasn't aware that there was a runtime dependency there?
WIll
I think that Valerios issue may be that Gnomes "Switch User" applet does not recognize KDM. AFAIK Valerio's only options are either... use KDM and use the ctrl+alt+f7 (or appropriate fx key) keyboard combination to get back to the KDE session from his wifes gnome session, or put up with whatever he doesn't like about GDM (I think KDE's session switcher works w/ GDM but I havent used it recently). I will be happy if someone proves me wrong about this. See ya dh -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
