Firefox under KDE behaves differently than under other desktops.
What's this ? PollKit? ksysguard? That I'm running temperature sensor and memory/cpu monitoring widgets?
Firefox under KDE (only the openSUSE version) gets default applications using KDE mechanisms instead of Gnome's GIO.
That's interesting for a number of reasons.
First, other people have advised me to lock-out the openSUSE version and download directly from Mozilla.
I've tried that and it doesn't work either.
And that's why I didn't jump in earlier. That means the reason is more complicated on your system and I wanted to do some tests before (what I still need to do). I just was pointing out that there is a difference in Firefox when running under KDE.

It works here under factory (12.1) and Mozilla Repo for Factory. How I setup thing are like this : first be sure to have in systemsettings under kde4 the default ressource pointed to firefox and thunderbird Default application Then, and this is the most tricky part, get firefox and thunderbird default for gtk env either by using the gnome-control-center, or gconf in the url handler the mailto has to be set to /usr/bin/thunderbird %s -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Ambassador GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
