I'm using Kmail to read my mail from an IMAP account. I have Kmail installed on my desktop, which runs 24/7, and on my laptop, which is on intermittently. When the laptop comes online, I see multiple copies of messages appearing in the desktop inbox. When the laptop disconnects, they disappear, leaving only one copy of each message. My HTC Android phone never shows any duplicate copies, so I think it is some sort of interaction between the two running instances of Kmail.
The account settings in Kmail are the same on each machine:
General tab
Incoming mail server: imap.gradwell.net Port: 993 Login: xxx Password: yyy
Store IMAP password: yes Include in manual mail check: yes Enable interval mail checking: yes
IMAP Settings tab
Automatically compact folders (expunges deleted messages): yes Show hidden folders: no Show only server-side subscribed folders: yes Show only locally subscribed folders: yes Load attachments on demand: yes List only open folders: yes Wastebin folder: Local Folders/wastebin
Namespaces: Personal: <Empty>
Anyone spot an incorrect setting?
Bob
Interestingly, it's stopped happening since I switched to using Thunderbird on the laptop. Some sort of loop condition between the two Kmails logged into the same IMAP server?
