there I find it's activated; auto-hiding is disabled but it should be shown in the systray - that's activated.
What output do you get if you, using kdebugdialog, enable all debug messages, then start kwalletmanager in a konsole?
OK, I start kdebugdialog: there's a flag set for "all debug activated". Window is open.
Next I start kwalletmanager in a konsole. Output: --- cut here --- Connecting to deprecated signal QDBusConnectionInterface::\ serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString) QDBusConnection: name 'org.kde.kwalletd' had owner '' but\ we thought it was ':1.189' --- cut here ---
Then I see the prompt again. In the process list both kwalletmanager and kwalletd can be found; they seem to be started. When I had that problem with kde 4.5.1 I killed the running kwalletmanager and restarted it with "kwalletmanager --show". The reason for my problem was a broken systray fixed finally by moving away .kde4.
