i find KDE 4.5 more predictable & stable than 4.4 used to be. judging from other reports in this list, i'm not the only one.
Then why is everyone having problems on this list and on IRC using 4.5 packages? ;-)
i wasn't aware that everyone had problems; i've seen a few, and those aren't necessarily related to 4.5--but i admit, there are problems. but then, which release doesn't have any?

didn't look up this post, but if x doesn't start, i rather suspect the graphics driver / kernel.
Sure 4.5 has many improvements over 4.4, but it also has regressions, and using 4.5 additionally introduces a number of substantial risks of packaging issues and user errors wrt. updating and repo configuration.
you're correct, of course. the safest and most stable thing is to go with the official release. i should have highlighted that. -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
