You can apply on the list, say you want to maintain x y z and where you expect it to be, these packages should be in the KDE:Extra repository, so you'd become a package maintainer for these packages. The maintainers of the whole repo might ask you to do some submit requests for single packages before so they see you know the deal, there is a nifty tutorial here: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Build_Service_Collaboration The basic point here is you branch off the package or create a new one in your home repository, make your changes and then submit them to the official place. If you've seen .spec files before this should be pretty straightforward, if not there are alot of good packagers in the #opensuse-kde irc channel to talk to =) Regards, Karsten Am Sonntag, 8. adopt a package - you know you want to.
How would one go about actually doing that? Is there a howto somewhere?
