Opened bug http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=511480 against usability but I suspect kdesu but there is only kde3, kde4 workspace and kde4 applications whereas this bug affects kde3 and 4 . Any help will be appreciated. Regards Dave P
The problem disappeared after I edited kdesurc but I can no longer reproduce this bug. I am speculating it was a result of adding relatime to my fstab as that is the only system change before the problem.
