As a temp fix I copied the appropriate .so and .desktop file (in my case plasmoid cwp and systemloadviewer) from a 11.1 box with kde 4.2.x to the box that the update had messed up, systemload and weather back and working. Mariusz Fik wrote:

I have the same problem. Still waiting for fix :) I hope it will be soon.
