Hi! Sorry if this has been asked before and if i'm not using the correct KDE terms. I'm not a regular poster here but i'm using KDE 4 since the early betas and i'm liking it a lot. Thanks to all who are involved in the KDE project for giving me this huge result of their mostly private and in many cases unpaid work! I'm using KDE 4.2 (updated recently from the factory repository) on openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 and i'm observing the following odd issue: Since quite some time, my desktop no longer reacts on the right mouse button (which means that i can't change the desktop appearance settings such as background image etc.). I *think* that this is caused by my desktop being in "plain folder view" mode. I tried various things to get a real plasma-like desktop again but failed. I deleted all plasma-related configuration files, logged out, logged back in again - no luck. I even created a fresh user and observed the same behavior, so this desktop mode is apparently the openSUSE default one. I have one other account that does not show this behavior, i.e. for this account i do have a real plasma desktop with the cashew in the top right corner. The next thing that i will probably try (if i find the time, which is not very probable) is to copy over all settings from that other user to my standard work user account. Instead i would like to know how to change the desktop of my work user account back to my preferred full mode. (And, as a bonus, i'd like to change the openSUSE default behavior to *not* use this type of desktop mode but to instead create fresh users with a real plasma desktop) Thanks in advance, Robert -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
