ast night I did an uprade of KDE 4.2 on 11.1 from the factory repo. About 70 packages. Several apps did not work after that but it was late and I shut the machine down.
Tonight I tired to boot up 11.1 and was dropped to the command line. I SU'd to root and did a startx. Machine blinked a couple of times and posted the following message, " Could not start kdeinit4. Check your installation."
Don't have any idea where to start. All help/suggestions/tips/advice welcomed.
Tried to cat some files in var but the fonts are so tiny on the terminal I cannot read them.(I am sight impaired.) (BTW does anybody know how to make the fonts larger on the boot up/terminal screen? 10.3 has nice big ones.)
Think anybody associate with the repo will discover the problem and correct it?
I encountered the same problem (I think). After upgrading everything works again. -- Richard ps: it is still 15 minutes till 1234554321 unix time: http://www.coolepochcountdown.com/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
