Given how much work bulding a new environment was/is, it's a fair decision to break backwards compatibility in this area. Disagree. I'll do but it's wasted time... and not only for end users but for devs too. This thread, bugreport that will follow, debate...
Guys, setting up your new pim suite it YOUR contribution to the future of KDE - do it with pride. This time is kmail, next time? Firefox ? Thunderbird ? Xxx ? Yyy ? These are things that make differences between distroes or using LFS..
