So you're saying that you like the intuitiveness of dolphin, but miss the features you mentioned? Okay, that makes more sense then. I just didn't see how "history" matched in the requirements of a file browser so far.
Ah, i did not know you did not use a file manager before, sorry. History means that places typed in the locationbar, stil are there when restart, so you don't have to type them over and over again. But ofcourse, i can always use krusader...
Why there is dolphin than?
The long term goal is to make Konqueror become really good as a browsing shell, and Dolphin as a management shell (files and documents). However, both is possible with either application, after all they're just using the same code anyway. We're not trying to repeat the "one size fits all" mistake we did before, therefore there are two applications.
I enjoy using dolphin very much, yes, and with these few things asked, which belong in a file manager, as these are useualy right-mouse-service-menu-options, one uses to move or copy files to a picked location, or pack them to save space, or to send them over a network, in a smaller way, or unpack them because you can not use them packed. History is also most convenient when one 'has to go this instant', the filemanager knows where 'one' left off... Anyway, i am not asking for them, to ask something, but because they are 'missing' when i need them. But when these options are not going to be implemented, i just have to use krusader instead of dolphin, np. -- Enjoy your time around, Oddball (Now or never...)
