Make sure Konq is the top application.
It is the top application. I moved it down, back up, then pressed Apply: gwenview still rules. Thanks.
You have failed to follow his instructions: "Make sure *Kong* is the top application."

I did follow the instructions: Konqueror was the top application, there was no mention of Gwenview.
Instruction: "Make sure Kong is the top application." You said: "It is the top application. I moved it..." Ok, I mis-read/interpreted/...
I rebooted the system.
A windoz habit that needs to be broken. In linux rebooting is only necessary (for the most part) when changing the kernel!
Same problem. I started another session. Same problem in the new session. I logged out of the new session. I opened this email. I returned to kcontrol.... And mirabile dictu, there was Gwenview at the top of the list for inode. I removed Gwenview from the list, and things seem to be working OK.
that is good :^)
Thanks to all for the help.
