The release candidate status is only for the development platform, i.e. the kdelibs behind-the-scenes stuff
You don't have to start the full desktop to test that, you can just run the applications from your KDE3 desktop
I do not agree with that, the apps perform different apart from their environment. Only KPat, which i use since the beginning. Since the graphics are better, it much more fun to use..
