Again, I'm not sure what you have run into, but since you are running 9.0, and I've seen this a lot, is that some of the update rpms are actually built on a 9.1 or 9.2 system, which could make them somewhat incompatible with your setup. That's just a theory though, that may not be the case for you. It appears that you have everything installed, did you restart KDE after running /sbin/SuSEconfig?
I see the SuSE window decoration in my listing when I click to get the drop down menu. Appearance>Window decorations>(drop down

Now the icons that are installed now are the SVG types, which are the same Crystal theme, but in svg format. The way KDE is built now, it can automatically resize the icons according to your settings. Using the svg icons saves space and gives you an overall better icon image.
You can still get the Crystal set (png) from http://www.kde-look.org, as well as many other nice icon sets. Usually there are instructions on how to install them. I always uncompress the icon file then move that directory into my /home/<user>/.kde/share/icons/
The next time you open the Control Center, the theme will be available to you.
hope that helps some Lee
Hello: The SuSE theme problem is solved. I have checked my system again and found: the Suse default window style is located in /opt/kde3/lib/kde3/ as kwin_SuSE.la and kwin_SuSE.so on Suse 9.0 having KDE 3.1. These files belong to the kdebase3-SuSE-9.0-80 package which seems to be distribution dependent (Suse 9.0), thus it's not included among the upgradeable KDE packages. In KDE 3.3 the new kde window style name format is kwin3_*, ie kwin_SuSE.la and kwin_SuSE.so should be replaced by kwin3_SuSE.la and kwin3_SuSE.so for working well. (Since these files were not replaced the SuSE theme does not show up in the windows decorations window.) To resolve the problem I have replaced kdebase3-SuSE-9.0-80 by kdebase3-SuSE-9.1-10.i586.rpm (downloaded from the Suse 9.1 distribution). I had also install Suse 9.1 thinkeramik package and ignore some dependency problems. kdebase3-SuSE-9.1-10 replaced the kwin_SuSE.la and kwin_SuSE.so for kwin3_SuSE.la and kwin3_SuSE.so. Now the SuSE theme is again listed among the windows decorations. I had no time to check the icon problem yet. Thanks, IG
