Folks, I have a new install of Suse 9.1 Professional with KDE 3.2.1 In setting up my Kmenu across the bottom of the screen I want to add some programs to the Kmenu. I start the menu editor and make the entries and save the results. The editor did create the files: ${HOME}/.config/menu/applications-kmenuedit.menu ${HOME}/.local/share/applicaitons/LyX.desktop as KDE doc say it should. The entries however do not appear in the Kmenu when I am a user other than root. If I do the same from a root session and the edits do appear in the Kmenu for root, but still not for the non-root user. It seems KDE for non-root users does not look for anything but the stock Kmenu. Can you point me to any fixes?
