Hmm, I don't have an answer, but another question ;-) 1.) Did you install the rpm's with something like "--nodeps" or "--force"? You really shouldn't! If you did, the best would be (IMHO) do deinstall all the kde packages manually and reinstall them without these parameters (Just rpm -Uvh *.rpm). Then look at the dependencies, and solve them _all_. 2.) You could try to hide your .kde-directories. Rename them and restart kde afterwards. Same problem? I am using SuSE 8.2 with KDE3.2beta2, and it works fine here. There are still some bugs, but not the one described by you above. Looks like a dependency problem to me... Greetings, Florian
