Just deactivate in kmail-preferences in look&feel "Use own Fonts" so that you can use the default. I think you know what I mean because I have here just a german version and don't know how the entries names in english.
I did this here before and here it works.
Maybe this is a bug to report.
Oliver,
I cannot find the preferences you refer to. On the english version under the Settings menu there is a Configure Kmail selection.and that brings up a dialog Named Customize Visual Appearance. It has tabs for Fonts, Colors, Layout, Headers, and Profiles. It also has a button to Use Custom Fonts. I have clicked and unclicked that button but it does not change anything.
I even went back to the previous version of kdenetwork3-mail and that didn't make any difference. I looked through the Control Center and was unable to find anything that made any difference.
This is frustrating! I think I will go to root and see if I have the same problem there. Maybe some preference file is not gettng changed. Guess I am just grasping at straws.
Yes could be a something in /tmp, I've read about others deleting things there but I don't remember what. Did you upgrade Xfree86 (or QT) at the same time that you upgraded kde? There were font problems associated with the original Xfree86 updates, I don't know how well they have been smoothed out, Im running 4.2. What happens when you try to select your own (new) custom fonts. Are choices available in the dropdown lister? good luck - -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+iqKyBwgxlylUsJARAkXBAJkBOUj1/snZ72tvgb+0PdLvQ7APIQCfTCgc 1RKpFKFGV10J0g4IycWOfPY= =uoXM -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
