How can I configure kmail to be used as IMAP?

Dear list, who knows ho I have to configure kamil (I use KDE 3.0 on SuSE Linux 8.0) to be able ot use in the IMAP mode. What I need is a detailed description, because the description of the online is insufficient for me :-( I can download emails from my provider, when I'm using Netscape. But with kmail - no chance! Who can help me? Alexander
