I've 2 users (A and B). For user A I can create new entries in the KMail addressbook and save them. That's ok. But I can't create any entry in the addressbook of user B. More precisely, I create a new entry, but I'm not able to save it. I get just a pop-up window saying something like 'cannot save addressbook' and the addressbook stays empty.
The difference between user A and B: I launched the empty addressbook for user B and tried to import an address list. The address list had a format error and the addressbook crashed with - I think it was - a signal 11 error.
I compared the two ~/.kde/../kmailrc files, but didn't find any significant difference, besides different mail directories and such things.
I read on the KMail pages that there are problems with importing lists. Does anyone know how to set the addressbook of user B in an usable state?
Thanks for any help. Thomas
The problem is likely a lock file. I believe that it is $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock. Check around in there and you will probably find the problem. It isn't really a KMail issue, it is really a KAddressbook (kabc) issue. Hope this helps. -- Kelly L. Fulks Home Account
