¡Hola! ê e ó õ ¿ ö ö ë æ é ë Patrick, I "wünsche dir" a Thousand Thank-Yous!¡! You don't know how many times I've asked this question and looked through the SuSE database. And it was so easy. Before I had picked up bits and pieces, but not a simple "this is how it works now; now you see how you can change it" answer. (Of course I had never heard of a three-key combination as modifier, so that didn't help. But your answer has me up and running in diacritical style. Thanks again, Kevin Patrick writes:
Kevin, Try R-shift, R-ctrl and the left windows key. That will set the action into motion and then certain key combinations will give you your special characters. Like an upside down question mark is: shift-question mark-question mark ¿ or an e with the dots ë over it. There is a complete list here: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale/iso8859-1/Compose
You can also change your "compose" key combo here: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Xmodmap or you may have one in your home directory $HOME/.Xmodmap
