Hello,
is it possible to update the current installed KDE packages with SuSE-YOU? I don't want to identify my package versions and
download the
relevant packages manually!
Yes, it is. YOU means Y)aST O)nline U)pdate. So fire up YaST and Click on "Online Update". The rest is more or less self-explaning. You'll see. :-)
I can't see the actual packages for kde 3.0.4 on mirror ftp.gwdg.de and others in SuSE-YOU ;-( Where can I get the packages for KDE 3.0.4 with SuSE-YOU (SuSE 8.0)?

I seem to recall that you can't update it through YOU, I might be mistaken, but you can update them through apt-get and synaptic, which is why i turned to apt. Check out http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ the download area is in the software installation part, right above the component list. it syas get .5.4 here... if you use mozilla right click on the package and save link as, otherwise you just get the source.
