I can't say that I have noticed any of the mentioned problems you pointed out in your mail. Now this is not to say that some have not experienced some of those as you have, but I think the majority of the users have had very good results from the 3.0.2 updates.
i am surprised (but glad) to hear that. You did not experience the "handbook" bug either? That may be
the reason for SuSE's lack of response. Most folks, as you did, managed to find simple fixes to the problems which actually were not the fault of the KDE updates.
the fixes were simple indeed, but finding them was a major waste of time, especially the yast2 one. Also to implement the "fixes" you
described to otherwise working files would have produced many more complaints I am sure, as most users would not need them.
i also do not need most of the bugfixes available on YOU, but since i am not a professional programmer, i am happy to select "automatic" mode and installall of them, PROVIDED installing them does not break anything else, as was the case for me with the KDE 3.0.2 upgrade. thanks for your comments, fred
