I think your having other issues then KDE 3.0.X not working. I've got 40 co-workers who use KDE everyday and use all but gpg (which isn't a KDE thing) and if there were issues or complaints then I would hear them because I'm the resident Linux Zealot and all questions filter over to me. I think maybe you should check for other issues such as config issues on the part of who's doing them. Everyone in my office prints just fine to an HP4 Laser printer over the network and a couple have local lexmark printers.
I would have to completely disagree with the non-functional assessment..I would be more on misconfigured.
Sorry..just my opinion.
Understand. I did two clean installs of 8.0 over a period of 3 weeks, immediately using YOU to update, and then configuring over that period. Got up to K3.0.1 . I really, really tried to make it work, but it was simply unusable, and now my boss is pissed. It can't mess up again. IBM Thinkpads (A2x). Suse8 was rampantly unstable. Not just K problems, but global (packages). Konq had major problems, PIM software, GPG... seemed like everything. Where do you think the problems might be? I am tenuous here. (Suse too, but Suse isn't talking to me... the local evangelist. Ironic) So, WTF is the safest thing to do?
