Hi!
I thought this problem was solved already. From the GNOME 2.30 Release
Notes:-

"In addition to a number of bug fixes, GNOME Panel has fixed a long
outstanding bug in that when you change your screen resolution, applets
will no longer randomly change position."

Yet, I continue to see this problem [see

Is this an openSUSE issue? Should I file a bug?

Some details:-
GDM login screen resolution 1152x864
User desktop resolution 1280x1024

The switch between the resolutions happens right when I login, and
immediately I see the applet arrangement messed up.

I see it is also noticed upstream though

Perhaps worth marking that bug as reopened?
