Feature added by: Markus Kuhn (m_kuhn) Feature #319444, revision 1 Title: zypper lp: add option to display description of each patch openSUSE Distribution: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Desirable Requested by: Markus Kuhn (m_kuhn) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: It would be nice to have a way for zypper to display a list of all available patches, including their description text. At present, the only way I can get "zypper lp" to display the description of each patch is to call it with "zypper -x lp" and read the <description> elements in the XML output. However, XML is a machine format, barely readable to humans. It would be nice if there were an option to see the content of <description> also in plain-text output. Perhaps "zypper -v lp" could be extended to that effect? Or a new option "zypper lp -d" (in analogy to "zypper search -d") to also display descriptions? Or at least an option "zypper -t lp" to get terse output with only the patch names, such that I can write zypper patch-info `zypper --terse lp` to get the description of all currently available patches (even though, patch-info is a bit too verbose, if the description is all I am interested in). -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/319444
