Feature added by: Joachim Wagner (jowagner) Feature #316749, revision 1 Title: Read names of existing RAIDs from Bios or RAID meta-data Requested by: Joachim Wagner (jowagner) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: OpenSUSE 13.1 attempts to support naming newly created RAID devices during installation, see openfate #315590 and bug #849752. In addition, it would be desirable to use names of existing RAID devices created by other tools (for example in the system bios). Source: comment 20 of bug report #849752. Implementation: The man page of mdadm suggests that these names are stored on disk in meta-data of the RAIDs and that mdadm support reading these. The developers probably will need access to platforms with this type of "fake RAID" hardware or at least access to disk images with the meta-data of such RAIDs. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/316749
