Feature changed by: Bruno Rodrigues (cbrunos) Feature #310831, revision 4 Title: Bépo keyboard layout - «first class citizen» openSUSE-11.4: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Pierre Ducroquet (pinaraf) Partner organization: openSUSE.org Description: Hi The usual qwerty keyboard layout (and similar layouts like qwertz, azerty...) are known for being suboptimal. Better layouts are available, like dvorak. These layouts are often tied to a language : dvorak is better for english, while french users will prefer bépo. On my system, I only use a bépo keyboard, that is not supported at all in the OpenSUSE installer, making it really painful to use. It would be a simple but nice addition to have bépo support in Yast. OpenSUSE would then be probably the only distribution providing that feature, and I don't think it costs much to include a new keyboard layout on the CD/DVD. Thanks Discussion: #1: Pierre Ducroquet (pinaraf) (2010-11-15 16:03:16) It is even a bit simpler than that : the bépo layout is installed, available using setxkbmap for instance, but not listed in Yast... + #2: Bruno Rodrigues (cbrunos) (2013-05-23 12:19:18) + I would like to have the ability to choose bépo during install, and I'm + sure that a lot of users of alternative keyboard layouts would love to + too. I'm not a developer, but I think this shouldn't be too hard to + implement in yast. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/310831
