will be realy usefull a graphical environment for managing pendrive,
where you can format, make partition, etc

What about YaST Partitioner? Just connect pendrive, start YaST, go to
Partitioner, find USB stick in the list and do what you have to do.
Although, I can see use case for the same module that will list only
pendrives, so that user by mistake don't format his hard disk.

+ Added openSUSE Distribution to preserve idea, as it is probably too
+ late for 11.4.
+ The idea is to have entry point to Partitioner that will list only USB
+ devices and a bit more help and warnings to user to check twice before
+ performing any destructive operation. Help would be how to recognize
+ correct USB device and where to ask for help if not sure.
