Feature changed by: Suresh Jayaraman (sjayaraman) Feature #309732, revision 4 Title: Add local caching support for CIFS (network file system) Hackweek V: Unconfirmed Priority Requester: Important Requested by: Suresh Jayaraman (sjayaraman) Description: Linux kernel 2.6.30 added support for FS-Cache which is a cache layer for networking filesystems. With FS-Cache and other caching backends (CacheFiles, Cache-FS) infrastructure in place, data from the networked filesystems can be cached on the disk, thereby speeding up operations. This is very useful in case of slow networks. Some of the network filesystems like AFS and NFS already supports FSCache. This feature is created to add support for CIFS (Common Internet File System).
