Feature changed by: Arvin Schnell (aschnell) Feature #308490, revision 7 Title: Parameterize LVM System Disk - openSUSE-11.3: Evaluation + openSUSE-11.3: Done Priority Requester: Mandatory Requested by: Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) Description: We are currently limiting with LVM setup the size of the LVM System Volume Group to 20 GB since it's required for some products. This is not desired for openSUSE and we should add a parameter to control.xml (or wherever) that parameterizes this so that for openSUSE we use the full disk. Relations: - Automatic creation of encrypted root is broken (novell/bugzilla/id: 559051) https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=559051 Discussion: #1: Jan Engelhardt (jengelh) (2009-12-12 14:38:07) Why would some products require that LVMs be not greater than 20 GB? Don't they have proper 64-bit counting? #2: Andreas Jaeger (a_jaeger) (2009-12-14 10:27:31) (reply to #1) To use the free space for some specific partitioning. + #3: Arvin Schnell (aschnell) (2009-12-15 11:56:11) + I have added the parameter "vm_keep_unpartitioned_region" (default + value is false). + Note that the LVM proposal does not use the complete volume group (for + big volume groups). This has been the same in older versions. But + resizing or adding a logical volume is easy in YaST. -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/308490
