Feature changed by: Stefan Behlert (sbehlert) Feature #305696, revision 7 Title: Add YaST Functionalities under GNOME "Common Tasks" Header - openSUSE-11.2: Evaluation + openSUSE-11.2: Rejected by Stefan Behlert (sbehlert) + reject date: 2009-03-26 11:00:45 + reject reason: See the related bug, comment #4 Priority Requester: Desirable + Projectmanager: Neutral Requested by: Kevin Dupuy (kdupuy9) Description: Currently, the GNOME Control Center features a "Common Tasks" banner on the sidebar of the window. An an improvement, some common YaST tasks could be added under this banner (currently, only "Set Preferred Applications" is listed). Some possible functionality: * Add User Account * Add/remove software repositories * Open administrator settings* (opens YaST) *Because there is no other method of opening YaST besides actually knowing that one needs to open YaST (e.g., new user). + Relations: + - Merge Gnome Control Center and Yast-gtk windows (novell/bugzilla/id: + 0) + https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=0 Discussion: #1: Eric Springer (erikina) (2009-01-18 23:37:06) See: Merge Gnome Control Center and Yast-gtk windows https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=460963 I strongly agree, it's very confusing. #2: Michael Löffler (michl19) (2009-03-25 17:45:57) Martin, can you comment from a usability point of view? -- openSUSE Feature: https://features.opensuse.org/305696
