Is this amdgpu FAILED a problem worth chasing?
$ inxi Graphics: Device-1: AMD Venus XTX [Radeon HD 8890M / R9 M275X/M375X] driver: amdgpu v: kernel Device-2: Chicony HP HD Camera type: USB driver: uvcvideo Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.8 driver: amdgpu FAILED: ati unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz OpenGL: renderer: AMD Radeon R9 M375X (VERDE DRM 3.36.0 5.6.14-1-default LLVM 10.0.0) v: 4.6 Mesa 20.0.7
Inxi is not all that easy for its novice users to interpret with so much info crammed into minimal space. This is how to read its graphics output: ... x11 server: X.Org 1.20.8 driver: amdgpu FAILED: ati unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz ... When amdgpu succeeds, ati shouldn't even be attempted AFAIK. Amdgpu is virtually always preferred wherever it is supported. Current inxi in TW is 3.1.00-1. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 ** a11y rocks!
