Can a network connection be unidirectional?
Only at 10/100 Mb. However, a bad connection might cause the NIC to think it has a 10/100 connection, instead of Gb. 10 & 100 Mb use a single pair in each direction. Gb uses all 4 pairs in both directions. However, it the connection only worked in 1 direction, I wouldn't expect the connection to work at all, as Ethernet tests for connectivity, before enabling the link. An intermittent or poor connection might allow things to work a bit, but not enough to work properly. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-factory+owner@opensuse.org
