I have switched now all my previous packages to the versions of "https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/M17N/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/" repo and I noticed a very big differences especially on Monospace fonts which I was using on Thunderbird Firefox and my Terminal.
The result was very ugly with large spaced letters...
Sounds like a (documented) case of https://doc.opensuse.org/release-notes/x86_64/openSUSE/Leap/15.0/#sec.deskto...
Thanks for the input Jan, however the issue was caused by some other stuff. I'm sorry to have not been able to identify what exactly it was! I resolved by revert back all the packages to "repo-oss" which I had previously "duped" by the "M17" repository. I let just the M17 libfreetype packages installed, all the others have been rolled back to "repo-oss". Now the issue is gone! It was pretty ugly: the text was taking more space and numbers were appearing in white and not in black! For example when I was using the M17 packages, accessing Yast fonts the window title was as below: YaST2 - fonts @ inux-turion64.ddns.net (like it should be) YaST2 - fonts @ linux - turion64 . ddns . net (like it was) In addition the digits "64" were displayed in white and not in black and the spaces among the words were double or so, not using normal spacing. Also text in some email (depending the way it was sent: text or html, UTF-8 or ISO) was appearing with words wide spaced each other like this: *For example when I was using the M17 packages , accessing Yast fonts the window title was as below* Regards, -- Marco Calistri Build: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20181029 Kernel: 4.18.15-1-default - Cinnamon 3.8.9 Nry隊Z)z{.r+맲rz^ˬzN(֜^ ޭ隊Z)z{.r+0Ǩ
