I have now found that DownThemAll! seems to have been replaced by the Addon called Multithreaded Download Manger which works OK as I just tried it a few minutes ago and it doesn't cause FF to freeze. Thanks for the warning Basil, I wouldn't be able to live without DownThemAll, maybe it'll work again by Leap:15.0.
Hi Dave. I cannot check now but DTA! should still work in Leap 15.0 at the moment because FF in 15.0 is still version 52.x. Yes, at the moment. Please note that Firefox 60esr is planned to be released 2018-05-09. So the plan really is to go for that one since FF52 maintenance is supposed to end in August

That means that with Leap 15 I expect to only support WebExtensions in Firefox. There is not much we can do about it I think.
(I don't know the plans for SLE12 and how far SUSE can pick up some maintenance for FF52 beyond August 2018 though.)
Thank you, Wolfgang, for the above info. Nice to be forewarned :-). The direction FF is moving nobody will be able to do anything except accept what FF provides. Personally, I am getting a bit weary/wary of FF and have just come across in Yast (list of files) a browser called VIVALDI which I am going to be trying out tomorrow. TOR is good but, unfortunately, just a tad slow for my liking :-).
