Yep, in Xine 'n' delays audio, and 'm' delays video, found it on the help.

I consider that a workaround and not a solution. A YouTube video in the
browser would still have this problem.

Of course it is a workaround.

But the fact that applications have those workaround means that the
problem is common.

Another workaround: it is possible to view youtube in external apps;
sometimes directly, some times indirectly (download the youtube video
and play it in a player).
