yeah the optiplex is not exactly a server (which is all I was talking about).

Time to resolve: Thinking of the low-cost TYAN/Supermicro boards -- picking a
random example like --, there is no
analog 3.5 jack sound to be found at this angle. On the other hand, there is a
PC speaker: the black circle immediately southeast of the the CR2032 battery.
