After my last re-install of Leap 42.2 I couldn't play or edit any mp4 file, and VLC crashed with any file, like a mp3 or mp4. The solution was to make (with the Packman repo enabled): "sudo zypper dup --from Packman" After this, VLC works fine, and I can play or edit the mp4 files with the desired applications.
