I don't think it depends on the user who monts a filesystem. I think it depends on the user who uses a monted filesystem.
When I mouint the filesystem as user, all Umlauts are correct. When I then start dolphin in Superuser-Mode, they are still correct. So it depends on the user who mounts it.
