Hi, I don't know who of you know this nice feature of CoreOS, that on the text console the fingerprint of the host ssh keys and the IP addresses are shown. Why this does not make much sense on pure desktop systems, it is quite usefull for server systems, especially if you can login only via network. I implemented something similar now for another project and wanted to ask here, if this is something which should be integrated into Tumbleweed. It is not a "plugin" package, you install it and it works, or you don't install it. If this package should be used, you need to modify the *-release packages, since this includes already a version of /etc/issue, which would overwrite the dynamic generated version with every update. If you want to give it a try or test it: The package: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:kukuk/issue-generator git repo: https://github.com/thkukuk/issue-generator Before installing the RPM, create a directory /usr/lib/issue.d/ and move /etc/issue as 00-OS to /usr/lib/issue.d/ Install the package. There are three "services" generating entries in issue: /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/90-issue-generator.rules => generates the network entry /usr/lib/systemd/system/issue-add-ssh-keys.service => generates the ssh fingerprints /usr/lib/systemd/system/issue-generator.service => only generates /run/issue Comments?
