MirrorBrain only redirects things with version numbers in them. That's also the reason why for repo-md in the update repo we use the checksum of the file as its path name and create symlinks. I guess we need to do similiar things with the packages file ;(

Yes...please find a way out. at least for all the stuff in setup directory.
It means the door wasn't open if the refresh got stuck.
No matter how fast, how many high-tech stuff we use to make the repository faster, people just can pursuit that treasure.
Many users in China just adds local mirrors as repositories, which leads to other issues like incomplete rsync...as desktop user usually we have only 2MB-4MB brandwidth...I never thought one day we have to "workaround" MirrorBrain, but that's actually happening.

Don't if it would help the global picture, but I believe that if (once the main rsync.opensuse.org is rebuild) there's a kind of primary mirror in china like widehat is for US continent would help spreading changes (especially updates and TW) to those part of the world.
